About

I live in the corporate world, running a software re-seller that offers some amazing security solutions to the corporate sector.

But …

I have been a coder since the Commodore VIC 20 (the machine before the Commodore 64) back in the 1980s. Over time I have put together lots of little tools that make my life easier, and this website is a way of sharing them.  I know that the modern thing is putting them onto GitHub, etc., but that is more work than I can be bothered with. The tools live here, they work, you can use them, and if you are interested, the source code is available.

When I have leveraged someone else’s work, I have credited it; I would ask that you do the same.  I don’t want to specify which open-source license it uses; I trust you to do the right thing. If you don’t do the right thing, stand in front of the mirror, look at yourself, and ask “what have I become?”.  Your child version would never have done that.

So I hope you find these tools and snippets useful.  And if you are ever in the market for some really good enterprise security software, check me out in the real world.

Why 7up Man?

If you lived in the UK in the 80’s and 90’s there was a canned drink called “7up” that was advertised using the cartoon character that you see on this page (called Fido Dido).  I look a bit like him!!
